Our admissions staff provides a personal experience for every family who considers St. Mary's Prep. We are rooted in the belief that each family deserves a unique view into our incredible school.
Mrs. Candace Castiglione
Dean of Admissions
Candace has been the Dean of Admissions for thirteen years but has been affiliated with St. Mary's Prep nearly all of her life. Candace oversees the admissions department and specializes in the high school admissions process, scholarship and financial aid process, transfer student process, and is the head of the acceptance committee. Candace is a product of Catholic education, attending Our Lady of Refuge for Elementary school, and graduating from Our Lady of the Lakes High School in 2001. She and her husband, Aaron, have a 6 year old daughter, Peyton.
"As the big sister of an alumnus (brother, Dominic graduated in 2006) I have seen first hand what St. Mary's Prep can do for young men...and now for young women! We help extraordinary families from all over the world mold men and women into respectable Christian's and leaders of our community. Orchard Lake is an incredible place."

Mr. Matt Petry
Director of Admissions &
Varsity Baseball Coach

Matt is in his fourth year as Director of Admissions, but has been affiliated with St. Mary's Prep for over 16 years. Matt is also our varsity baseball coach, and has been running the baseball program for thirteen years. He has led the Eaglets to state championships in 2015 2019, 2021, and 2022, and National Championships in 2021 and 2022. Matt has also served as one of the resident advisers in the dorms. Matt specializes in the admissions process, athletic department, MHSAA and CHSL transfer and eligibility rules, and the boarding program.
Matt's father, Dan Petry is a former Detroit Tiger who currently serves as a Tigers announcer. Matt's younger brother, Jeff Petry, graduated from St. Mary's in 2006, and currently plays in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens. Matt, also the product of Catholic education, graduated from Brother Rice High School in 2003.
