Transfer Students

Second semester transfer, January 2024

Currently, all grades in both the boys' and girls' divisions are full. The opportunity for a student to transfer in is determined upon a currently enrolled student leaving thus opening a seat in the class. As soon as we are aware of an open seat in the class, we will contact every family who has added their student's name to the Transfer Interest Survey . From there, we will share information on formally applying for the seat. The top academic student(s) per the space(s) offered in the class will be offered the seat. The "waitlist" does not go in order date of interest,

MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) TRANSFER RULES

If your child participates in high school athletics, or is interested in doing so, it is important that you are aware of the MHSAA
transfer rules. You can view these rules by clicking the box below. Any questions related to these rules can be directed to Matt Petry, Director of Admissions at mpetry@stmarysprep.com.

*Only under unique circumstances as decided upon by school administration would Senior transfer (12th grade) be considered for admissions*

Applicants Requiring Academic Accommodations

If the applicant is on a current documented and supported IEP, 504 or another form of an accommodation plan, please contact Candace Castiglione, Dean of Admissions at 248-392-9280 or CCastiglione@stmarysprep.com to discuss the applicant. It is important that our staff discusses the applicant’s accommodation plan, so that we may further be aware of the specialized needs of the student. Our priority is to ensure the academic success of every prospective student and having these conversations first is a wonderful way to start.

Transfer students are NOT required to take a placement exam. Transfer students are accepted based on their current high school academic performance, behavioral records, and interview with the Dean of Admissions, Headmaster, and grade level academic dean.
