Rewarding Accomplishment and Providing Opportunity

St. Mary's Prep offers a number of scholarships to prospective students. Out of all of the Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit, we are proud to offer the most robust scholarship offerings of any other school.


Please note, scholarships are available to incoming 9th graders ONLY-
transfer students are not eligible for any scholarships noted below.

The Academic Merit Scholarship

Award range-
$2,500-$4.000 per year

Merit Scholarships  will be awarded solely on the full 7th  grade and first quarter 8th grade  academic performance. The office of Academic Affairs at St. Mary's Prep will calculate a custom GPA on our grading scale based on core classes and strength of schedule. Academic scholarships are reserved for students with a core GPA of 3.8 and above.  Academic scholarships will renew each year so long as the student maintains specific academic requirements as outlined in the scholarship letter. 

The Brotherhood Scholarship 

Boys Division

Award range-

$1,000-$2,500 per year

The Brotherhood Scholarship is awarded to young men  who have proven to be inspiring young role models and have exhibited exactly what it is to be a Christian. As indicated within the recommendations and information set to accompany a student’s application, recipients have exhibited positive behavior in the classroom, in co-curricular activities, church communities, and various other organizations the applicant has been involved with. Candidates who exhibit this type of behavior per the above documentation will be recommended to the scholarship committee as potential recipients. 

The Mary Scholarship 

Girls Division

Award range-

$1,000-$2,500 per year

The Mary Scholarship is awarded to young women  who have proven to be inspiring young role models and have exhibited exactly what it is to be a Christian lady. As indicated within the recommendations and information set to accompany a student’s application, recipients have exhibited positive behavior in the classroom, in co-curricular activities, church communities, and various other organizations the applicant has been involved with. Candidates who exhibit this type of behavior per the above documentation will be recommended to the scholarship committee as potential recipients. 

The Milewski Scholarship

Award- $1.000-$3,000

per year

This scholarship program honors the mission of Reverend Stanley Milewski, which was to give deserving students an opportunity to be educated in the Catholic environment. This scholarship honors our relationships with elementary and middle schools in the metro Detroit area by rewarding high-quality students for their commitment to spiritual and academic achievement. This scholarship is renewable each year, provided the student is in good academic standing and is exhibiting the Christian behaviors expected of St. Mary’s Prep students.  Every student who formally applies to St. Mary's will automatically be considered for this award. 

The Parent Educator Scholarship

Students who have been accepted to Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep, and have a parent or step-parent currently working as a full time teacher or administrator in a public or Catholic school may be eligible for this scholarship totaling 50% off of the current school year’s tuition. The First Responder Scholarship

Students who have been accepted to Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep, and have a parent or step parent currently working as a full time police officer, fire fighter, paramedic, or EMT may be eligible for this scholarship totaling 50% off of the current school year's tuition. The Joseph Burkacki Scholarship

Established in 2019,  this honors and preserves the important Polish heritage of the Orchard Lake Schools by providing scholarship awards to qualified students. The Fund utilizes annual distributions from the Fund, preserving the principal of the fund to aid future students and perpetually honor Mr. Burkacki. Student recipients, known as “Burkacki Scholars”, commit to appropriately promote the Polish traditions to the diverse population of The Orchard Lake Schools, and pledge their Christian service in support of the School’s overall mission.

- students who receive the Parent Educator or First Responder scholarship are
  ineligible to receive additional scholarships.
- there are a limited number of Parent Educator and First Responder Scholarships available. 
  the deadline to apply for these awards as the application deadline(s) for the class of 2028.
- The above two parent employment- based scholarships max out at two students per family in the
  the school at any one given time.
  Example: a family has a senior, junior and sophomore in the school. Only two of the three
  enrolled students would be eligible to receive the parent -based employment award for the         particular school year in which the three students are enrolled.
