Your student is paired with a host in their division and goes through the real school day. You reconnect at pick-up — and a friend can come too.

What families need to know.
A Shadow Day is designed for your child. Parents can experience the school separately through a scheduled School-Day Open House.
- Available dates
- Choose the Boys Shadow Day or Girls Shadow Day calendar to view current dates and availability.
- A deliberately small group
- Each Shadow Day is capped at six Boys Division students and six Girls Division students. Once a division fills, additional seats cannot be added.
- Arrival and pickup
- Doors open at 7:55 a.m. Students should arrive at the Admissions Office, Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory , 3535 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake, MI 48324, no later than 8:00 a.m. Pick-up is at the Admissions Office at 1:00 p.m.
- Admissions interview
- Every eighth-grade shadow has an interview with the Admissions Office during the school day.
- Detailed confirmation
- A few days before the visit, families receive an email covering dress code, lunch, drop-off, pickup and the rest of the day’s practical details.
Parent tours are not given on Shadow Days because of the campus and school-day schedule. Parents should reserve a monthly School-Day Open House through the visit calendar.
